Cosmetic Injectables

Non‑surgical injections to freshen your look and ease jaw discomfort—all in one go. Book Appointment

What Are Cosmetic Injectables?

Cosmetic injectables are your go-to for smoother, more refreshed skin—without the downtime. These minimally invasive treatments work by relaxing specific facial muscles, helping soften fine lines and wrinkles for a natural, rested look.

They temporarily block nerve signals to reduce muscle movement, which means fewer expression lines over time. Quick, effective, and subtle—so you still look like you, just a little more refreshed.

At AP Dental, we use JEUVEAU®, an FDA-approved injectable treatment that works similarly to Botox. Both are made from botulinum toxin type A and are designed to smooth out dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial movements. JEUVEAU® is specifically formulated for aesthetic use and is often called “the modern alternative to Botox.”

Cosmetic Injectables That Do More

From softening fine lines to enhancing facial symmetry, cosmetic injectables do more than you’d think. And it’s not just about looks—some are FDA-approved to treat things like excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), chronic migraines, and jaw tension from temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Beauty and relief? Yes, please.

FAQ

JEUVEAU Treatment

Most cosmetic injectable appointments take about 15 to 30 minutes, and even with multiple areas, it's typically under an hour, making it easy to fit into a lunch break. But it’s just as important to us that your results are safe and high-quality, which is why our experts never rush the process.

You may feel a quick pinch or slight pressure. Most people describe it as mildly uncomfortable but totally manageable.

Not really! Cosmetic injectables are non-invasive and quick, so you can head right back to work, school, or whatever’s on your schedule—no time off needed. Perfect for those of us with packed calendars.

Just a few things to keep in mind after your appointment:
• Stay upright for at least 3 hours (no naps just yet)
• Skip the sauna, hot tub, or anything super sweaty for about 4 hours
• Stick to a cool, dry environment to keep everything calm and comfortable

Basically: back to business as usual—with a few smart tweaks to protect your glow.

Some changes may be noticeable within 2–3 days, but full results typically appear around 7–10 days after treatment.

Cosmetic injectables are non-surgical and won’t leave any permanent scars. Temporary redness or minor bruising can happen—it all depends on how your skin reacts or if a small blood vessel is affected. If you do bruise, it’s completely normal and typically fades within a few days.

Effects usually last between 3 to 4 months, depending on the treatment area and your body’s natural metabolism.

It depends on the reason for your treatment. If you’re getting cosmetic injectables purely for aesthetic purposes—like smoothing wrinkles or enhancing facial features—insurance typically won’t cover it, since it’s considered elective.

However, if you’re receiving treatment for a medical condition such as TMD (TMJ), chronic migraines, or muscle spasms, your insurance may cover part or all of the cost. In those cases, the treatment is considered therapeutic rather than cosmetic.

The best way to know for sure? Check with your insurance provider and speak with your healthcare team. We’re happy to help provide any documentation needed for pre-authorization or reimbursement.

Cosmetic injectables are generally safe, but they’re not recommended for everyone. You should avoid treatment if you:
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant or breastfeed (it is not known if Jeuveau can harm your unborn baby or passes into breast milk).
• Have a skin infection at the planned injection site
• Are allergic to any botulinum toxin products or ingredients
• Have had allergic reactions to similar treatments (like BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®, or Myobloc®)

People with certain neurological or muscular conditions, such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome—may also be at a higher risk of serious side effects like difficulty swallowing or breathing.

Always tell your provider if you:
• Have had facial surgeries or experience muscle weakness
• Have heart, lung, or bleeding conditions
• Are planning a surgery
• Have had side effects from previous injectable treatments

Especially tell your healthcare provider if you have received any other botulinum toxin product in the past and the last 4 months, and exactly which product you received (such as BOTOX, BOTOX Cosmetic, MYOBLOC, DYSPORT, XEOMIN, or DAXXIFY).

Also, share a full list of any medications, supplements, or vitamins you're taking, since some may interact with the treatment and may cause serious side effects. Do not start any new medicines until you have told your healthcare provider that you have received Jeuveau in the past.

The best way to know if it’s safe for you? Schedule a consultation. Your provider will review your medical history, current medications, and any concerns to make sure the treatment is right for you.

No serious or drug-related adverse events were observed in the Jeuveau clinical studies.
